The Grand Colombian Merchant Fleet was a public limited company with public and private capital, formed by a group of ships and unarmed vessels dedicated to economic activities such as trade and the transport of goods, and initially, the transport of coffee. It was founded in the forties by the governments of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. It was in operation until the mid-nineties, when it had to be liquidated.
