Descripción:

Antonio Baraya (Girón, Viceroyalty of the new Granada, January 31, 1776-July 20, 1816, Bogotá), was a Colombian soldier. He was the first granadine military to start the War of Independence (1810). He took sides with the federalists and rebelled against the centralist Antonio Nariño. He was finally executed by firing squad, by order of the Spanish Government during the reign of terror (reconquest).
