El \u00abPila del Mono\u00bb, is a monument located in the historic center of Tunja, Colombia. This monument was erected in the main square and for three centuries, it was the place where the inhabitants of the city gets their water.<\/p>\n
The monkey represents the god of silence. He has the right index finger on his lips, telling the waterers to refrain from talking during the time of collecting water. The sculpture was made by Diego Morales.<\/p>\n
